FIELD NOTES: APIS MELLIFERA - Blaugust the Fourteenth
Location: Garden perimeter, mid-morning
Weather: Sunlight sharp enough to slice shadow from stem
Observations:
- Ten years ago, the hum was a death knell. Family blood remembers the swelling, the gasping. I had never been stung.
- Now I walk among them as a tolerated guest, careful, reverent, my heartbeat tuned to the hiveās static hymn.
- They permit approach, but not presumption.
Conclusion: Do not attempt to snuggle the bees.
